David Jones-Robinson

• David has been Head of Intellectual Property and Patents Counsel at Arvos Group since its divestment from Alstom Power in 2014. By focusing IP protection with innovation strategy, IP title with economic ownership and enforcement on fostering commercial cooperation, he has sought to ensure that the management of its ever increasing IP portfolio adds tangible value to the business. Previously, he worked as Licensing and Claims Manager at Alstom (now GE) and before that as an IP Advisor for the Environment Agency. During a mid-career break working overseas as a carpenter and then construction manager he realized that, as the son of a Patent Attorney, IP was definitely in his blood. Before his career hiatus he worked for Patent practitioners in the UK and as a young engineer for IBM & the MOD. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in IP Law. David now lives and works in Switzerland.
