Digby Thomas-Bennett

Digby is passionate about Intellectual Property and its power to steer and sustain Innovation. His passion began over 20 years ago while working for Defence Technology Enterprises Ltd.; which occasioned his Thesis, “Technology Transfer from within the Public Sector Research Establishment (PSRE) Arena”. Digby has since earned a wealth of experience building and deriving direct and indirect value streams from Innovation by embedding robust IP culture into business and via strategic development of IP portfolios. Career highlights have included working on Tomorrow’s World, with the European Space Agency and across much of UK MoD. He now holds the position of Head of Intellectual Property Exploitation for Thales UK, a technology business with a turnover of circa £1.3 billion, that employs around 6,500 people across the defence, security, transport, space and aerospace sectors in the UK, and is a major part of the global Thales Group.
